White tea

While I was sick and not leaving the house last week, a friend (curiously, one I'm not even very clsoe to) insisted on stopping by to visit, and brought me a 100g bag of tea he bought me from the Tea Shop. It was White Tea, which I'd never really tried before, although i'd heard of it.

Yesterday I brewed a pot of it, and it was ok: very sweet, although it gets bitter over time.

Lately, I've been drinking a lot of Mighty Leaf (www.mightyleaf.com) Hojicha, a smooth green tea that doesn't get bitter over time as I'm working my way through the pot.

Evanovich!

I was in the middle of reading a mediocre mystery by Barbara Block, CHUTES AND ADDERS, which I wanted to like more but can't seem to. I like the pet store background, and those details are very well done, I think. But I can't quite warm up to the character and the stupid mistakes she's making.

So it was a no-brainer when the care package from the U.S. showed up today (thank you, o wonderful Keith!) with a copy of the new Janet Evanovich, I put the other book down and began reading this instead.

And it was great. Lots of fun, better plotted and coherent than some unfortunate entries toward the early-middle of the series.

Only it was over so quickly!

At least there's a new Kate Shugak out soon. And then there'll be a new Sue Grafton this fall, I assume. And there should be a new Jane Haddam due this fall, too. And...

:-)
