Oops. Guilty.

I guess I have been procrastinating and/or depressed more than I realized.

I read 33 books in January, and also have two half-finished books that might count for Februrary if I ever finish them (am pretty sure I will: one is Alexander McCall Smith's HEAVENLY DATE, a collection of stories I began two days ago and have been slogging through; the other is Thorne Smith's TOPPER, which I had never read--and still haven't, to be precise...).

I had remembered that I always read a lot in January, when I get my Winter Doldrums (tm).

But checking my previous booklogs, I find that I'm way ahead of my normal January reading, which break down as:

2004: 22 books
2003: 21 books
2002: 2 books (!!!)
2001: 23 books
2000: 11 books

My choices: cheer up, do more work, keep reading...

That's more than a book a day! You're a robot. I read 9 books this month and I feel like a champ. :P

Well, having A Life (tm) does get in the way of one's reading. Helps if one doesn't get out of bed. One can knock off two or three books in a day more easily then.
