Confirmation of vanity

desayunoencamaAfter procrastinating quite horrible, I finally sat down and wrote a 900-word draft of an article on progressive changes here in Spain, one year after the new socialist government took over.
And I realize that, while I can write personal essays, trying to write journalism is like pulling teeth, and it's not even worth all that pain because the end result is pretty mediocre.
Sigh.
Must try to stop letting myself get talked into these things.
(I do keep hoping that, with some practice they'll get easier, and admittedly this took only about three hours since I'd put it off for so long--I finally buckled down around 3am--but I'm not convinced that the "practice" is helping enough. Though larger checks would certainly make it all seem more palatable... :->)
