I hate this!

Looking through my email address book for something else, of course I came across Paula Danziger's contact info. I hate having to remove someone from my files because they've passed away. With my business card rolodex, back in NY, I used to keep people's cards, just turn them around. Of course, I left that entire rolodex back in NY, only taking certain cards with me when I moved here... Too depressing?

But with the online database, it's just so irrevocable. (I guess I'm lucky that I haven't had to do this often in the past half-decade since moving here, but it still sucks.)

I hate removing people's info, too. Sometimes I'll put it off a little while, if I'm not up for the task yet--I figure it does no one any harm to leave contact info in the PDA just a bit longer. When I'm ready, I remove it.

I don't remove it; I keep it. It makes me cry, or smile, or be wistful, and that's okay with me.

I have a good friend who went back and restored a bunch of deceased people she'd removed, because she missed them.

At least you had her info, which suggests you interacted with her at some point. That's cool. I was really sad to hear about her passing, because I read so many of her books when I was young. I wish I could have met her. :

Hey it's AM and I just want to say I feel for ya.

*gives Lawrence a hug*

Paula was an awesome author and I am sure friend.

If there's anything I can do I'm here for ya.

Geez, yeah. I don't want to think about how many entries in the Black Books database are marked DECEASED -- customers and contributors, friends and acquaintances -- because neither Bill nor I could bear to do the final purge.
