OK, I got tired of hearing friends talk about or reference things going on in their own or so-and-so's Live Journals, so here I am. I've signed up, opened a journal, and am fumbling my way around here, trying not to stub my cyber-toes against pointy objects in the virtual dark...

Welcome, and I'm stunned to find yet another person has added me to his frelj list (my friend rmoorman made up the term, because friend implies too close a relationship and acquaintance sounds too cold) me.

I dunno, it seems one wanders around, looking at who's journals the people you know are also reading, or looking at confluences of interests that seem interesting to you, and so on. Marking someone's profile, even temporarily, seems to be the only way to figure out this vast sprawl and find your way back again.

Because you see interests or usernames that have appeared a few times in the friendlists of people you know, and decide to see who they are or what they have to say and that leads to another journal and so on.

I'm still baffled at allt he technical stuff, like referencing someone else's LJ page or userinfo or otherwise having links to other places or whatever. But that's fine. I'm so low tech, but happily so.
