blog en español
Oct. 11th, 2008 01:02 amI've been thinking for a while now that I really need to spin off a separate blog en español, especially now that I've got a new book WRITTEN in Spanish to promote. (For instance, if I posted some excerpts from DESAYUNO EN LA CAMA, I imagine very few readers would be able to make heads or tails of it.) And while it is MY blog and I can write whatever I want and however I want to write it, I also don't want to clutter up y'all's friendlists with material that most of you will just skip over...
I've noticed that on facebook I've been much closer to my actual life than here on LJ in terms of updating in both Spanish and English, as the fancy moves me, or depending on who the update will be relevant to.
I also think that on facebook I have much more of a local and/or Spanish-only circle than here...
(Not to mention the fact that the updates are less permanent and less public, in some way, even though they're read by far many more people on my Facebook circle than those of you who read this blog...)
I'm comfortable on LJ, but it's not very widely used in the Spanish speaking blogworld, so I'm not sure whether to try and start the Spanish blog elsewhere or not. (And laziness and fear of learning a new interface will also no doubt contribute to my not getting around to it for a while. Of course, nothing will happen until I'm back from the Frankfurt Book Fair anyway...)
Anyway, I'll post here when I've finally created a Spanish-language blog, for anyone who might be interested in it.
(And one housekeeping item:

Oh well
Date: 2008-10-11 12:13 pm (UTC)Then again, I am not a published writer.
Don't know what that FB circle is but as I see it, Blogger is the most used in Spain.
Enjoy Frankfurt

Saludos!!

Date: 2008-10-12 09:10 pm (UTC)I believe language is a tool and I use it as such. I use each of the three languages I speak for different reasons and receivers.
I've read this blog for long now (although I didn't comment much) and I will read it if you write it in either language.
About Blogger, it's real easy and it's platform let's other services comment much easier (plus it's Google!). I tried to open an OpenID thingy but I didn't know how to use it. So no link.
Otherwise you can have a WordPress (or a WP alike template like mine) and have different windows for each language in the same blog.
anyways, enjoy the sausages! (i mean, Frankfurt)

(I can't imagine writing in my native language at all.)
