Just one of those days
Mar. 28th, 2007 10:57 pmYesterday was one of those days of lots of no-good disappointing things.
A book project here in Spain was cancelled. I lasted almost three whole months this year before my first book of the year got cancelled! This is a big improvement over the past two years.
(I'm actually not especially disappointed, and will hopefully still be paid something for it. It was a weird project for the government of a small town outside of Madrid, with an unprofessional artist attached and a general lack of organization, etc. I have to take the train out there tomorrow for a meeting to resolve everything, but in many ways I'll be glad to have one less headache to deal with.)
Also yesterday, the plumbers came and made a hole in my bathtub (sea photo).
They came back today to actually fix the leak into the downstairs neighbor's apartment, but alas they've left the hole open because they're going to install a door instead of just replacing the tiles, in case they need to get under there again.
Unfortunately, installing the door will take 2-4 weeks, while the door is being made to size and etc.
Sigh.
I guess I'll tape it over, since it's all dusty and icky-smelling and all.
Otherwise, today's been just fine. No major good things, but some low key nice stuff (day to day life) and the absence of bad news makes it all seem even better.
Oh and I sold a reprint of my story "Dry Run" to an anthology of erotica about pregnancy.

story
Date: 2007-03-29 01:54 pm (UTC)Congrats on selling a story! It seems you'd be more excited about it. Dancing on the ceiling, so excited, you'd be oblivious to the hole in your tub. LOL
