Fairy Tales For Writers

I've heard that copies have at last made their way to the offices in New York, so I'm finally posting about it here.

The official pub date is June 1st, as distribution is still being ironed out.

Right now, it's only available direct from the publisher, A Midsummer Night's Press, at www.amidsummernightspress.com

Fairy Tales for Writers is 32 pages perfect bound, $6.50 per copy, with free shipping within the US for pre-orders (until June 1st).

(i'll have copies with me for sale at Wiscon for anyone who wants to wait and pick one up in person there.)

I'll post some excerpts in the next posts.

It's a cool little book, I enjoyed reading it! (And have posted about it.) And my wife got a kick out of it. I'm maybe too much of a cynic to buy all the happy endings, but heck, maybe I just need to learn to dream again ...

Glad you and the wife both enjoyed the book.

Do you think there are that many happy endings? I think there are perhaps three or four. Some of them are quite dark, including the opening poem, the Little Red Riding Hood one you especially liked, the Rumplestiltskin one, etc. I did, though, want to end on a happy ending, so maybe it leaves an impression of happy endings.

Although learning to dream again is, I think, a good thing. :-)

Maybe so; it probably seemed like a lot relative to my own experience with a constant artillery fire of rejection slips, heh. If I tried a series like this it would probably be filled with two-timing publishers...

After reading the excerpts, I am so getting this, and getting a copy for my sister too.

I have mine! :)

However, right now, I have only read the poems you've posted here, as mine is currently buried in the huge stack of books that followed me home from ICFA. Must unearth ASAP.

Great meeting you at ICFA! Thank you again for adding so much to the panel!

Good to meet you in person, too, and talk about all sorts of interesting things on the panel. Sorry we didn't get a chance to talk more extra-panel.

Hope you like the rest of the Fairy Tales for Writers when you get a chance to recover from the conference and everything that probably built up while you were away.

:-)

I will be doing the buy-a-copy-at-Wiscon thing.

If you see me and I don't (because I go all spacey at cons) just remind me I owe you moneys. :)
