desayunoencamaI went to an interesting round table discussion tonight on women in the publishing world, in honor of it being March 8th. It was interesting not just for the subject, but also because the three women were obviously passionate about books and literature, even while negotiating the tricky balancing act of the business of books and literature as well.
Today I had a photo session for THE BROAD SHEET, an English-language monthly in Spain that's going to publish a profile of me in their EXPAT EXPLOITS section.
This afternoon I got a call from a new Television channel that's being developed by the local city government, for emission via internet as well as public TV screens in plazas and on metros and so on, who want to interview me tomorrow morning about my three children's books about Madrid.
¡Y yo con estos pelos!
(I am in desperate need of a haircut, so it's not the best of timing; the boyfriend likes me with longer hair, whereas I tend to keep it buzzed very short for ease of care if nothing else, but since he looks at me far more than I look at myself, I've let myself get into this shaggy state...)
I also need to pack for the flight to Florida on Saturday. So much to get done before the trip, too!
But TV is often likes this: bad timing.
And one sort of has to work around their schedule, since it's so hard to catch their interest, especially for books.
But the publicity is worthwhile so I'll muddle through it all and hopefully manage to get everything done.
