Today I had only one formal appointment left at the bookfair,s o I met my friend Vincent in the late morning for a bit of shopping along the Zeil and a few crepes (for me) and a hot waffle (for him) before we hit the bookfair again.
Overall, I have found this to be a really low energy fair, with so many people just not engaged. I am not sure that I was fully on either, I would normally have a) given out more of our own catalogues and b) picked up catalogues from publishers I didn't yet know and c) try to make more appointments at the fair (always tricky) if people had slots left. But this year was mostly just a question of walking through business that was already in place and seeing some people I have worked with before or am currently working with to touch base about projects (many of which are late, oops, but everyone seems ok with that).
Tomorrow I fly home at last to Madrid, and will hopefully be able to take a few days to just collapse.
