The final straw today was the washing machine breakign down completely (and taking the electrical system with it, until we unplugged it). Sigh.

Sympathy ... I am emerging from a phase of life that has been like this. It's a pain while it's happening, but I think there is life on the other side. Don't suppose we'll be seeing you at Worldcon, shall we?

Sympathies on the mutual besieged-by-gemlins-ness and getting through to life "on the other side" of all this!

And, alas, no Worldcon, since I'm invited to give some workshops at a queer Jewish conference in Amsterdam the same weekend, with flight and lodging and food included.

I was reading in Utne that life is less chaotic immediately after a traumatic event. Scientists ran a super computer full of random number sequences. On the day of a terrible tragedy, most notably 9/11 and the Spain bombings, the numbers were more chaotic and random. The following day, there were more orderly.

Entropy's gotta be balanced out somehow. Things hafta get better for you soon. It's kismet. :)
