Today's delays/disappointments

It's not that they don't each suck, but they do seem to lose their sting when they all arrive in a clump like this.
Or maybe I'm just so crabby and pessimistic lately that they no longer surprise me.
Today's two major disappointments were:
1)
Problems with one of the Spanish children's publishers, who've accepted and paid us for a picture book but may not publish it after all since the person at the museum it is associated with is in some sort of power balance with out editor and refuses to approve any of her projects.
I really hate when you do everything right and it still comes out wrong.
The company is also fighting off a corporate takeover right now, so they are not taking on any new projects and thus returned the two projects they had asked for.
2)
I am supposed to be giving two three hour lectures as part of a 10 week class on literary translation. Since I am travelling so much this spring, I had to juggle some trips in order to make sure I was available on two dates that didn't conflict with when the other professors were available.
Unfortunately, as of today, the entire course has now been delayed a week or few, which throws the scheduling into chaos once again.
Sigh.
