The Buchmesse this year was so slow I brought home hardly any catalogs. And so I have far too much luggage space, since I brought the small wheeler this year justf or the catalogs.

Therefore, I had to go shopping this afternoon, after having brunch with my friends Philipp and Vincent. Found a black zip-up sweater that fit, at long last, to replace the one I had worn so much I wore through it. Also a nice shirt. Which together came to under 50 Euros. And so I am filling out the suitcases a bit with them, although there is still plenty of leftover room for things to slide around and get squished in transit. Ah well.

Have just prepared the thermos of high mountain oolong tea. Will now have a few mugs and then off to catch the train to the airport.

Next post from Madrid, home at last!

I wound up with one of THOSE check-in clerks, who even made me put my backpack on the scale and charged me 90 euros for 13 kilos excess baggage.
:-(

It was one of those situations where arguing only made him notice more things to add to the scale and there wasn't a way for me to redistribute anything or what have you.

So I paid it, and moved on with getting home.

Just elaves a sour taste int he mouth at the end of the trip. I could've mailed stuff back for cheaper if I knew this was going to happen. (On the trip out, not only did they let me use both the wheeler and my backpack as carryons, they didn't weigh either of them.)

Very much looking forward to sleeping in my own bed tonight! :-)
