As any of you who know me are already aware, I always get in a strange mood when I'm about to go on a trip. On the one hands, I get nervous that I'm going to forget something important. Usually, this means figuring out what I'm going to need to work on over the time I'm away, and trying to bring it all with me.

Although the truth of the matter is that I almost never manage to get much work while on the road, irregardless of how much i either need to get done or remember to bring with me.

I should learn this and stress less.

I'm actually not very stressed right now, I think. But the pre-packing panic is waiting there, dormant, for the right moment to spring upon me. (Although the truth is, there's not much to pack, since I have clothes and such back in NYC; mostly I have to decide what books to schlepp with me and leave there...)

But I get in this weird lull, where I'm reluctant to do anything new except try and tie up loose ends before I go.

I'm only going to NYC, where I'll still be in touch (via email or phone if necessary) and I'll be back in a little more than a week so it's Not a Big Deal. Almost everything can wait.

Still, there I am, in that Lull.

I did manage go over the copyedits for the Spanish version of Sara and my upcoming picture book EUREKA and I think the text is shaping up quite well. We brainstormed ideas (the translator into Catalan also did the copyedit on the Spanish version) for making similar changes to the Catalan version.

And while we were in the café, we were filmed as background for some program to be shown on Channel 7's "Me gusta Madrid" (I like Madrid). Of course, I handed them one of Sara and my flyers, and told them about the two upcoming very-Madrid children's books in November (one set in Lavapies and one in Chueca) and they gave me the producer's contact info to do an interview when the books are published.
