Gay Pride is at last over, the march had lots of people, although it seemed more chaotic and less.... vibrant than in previous years. I guess, having gotten so much in terms of legal equality--gay mariage soon, etc.--there wasn't the sort of rage and anger that has fueled earlier demonstrations.

Also, the carnival aspect of it has far overtaken the rvindicative.

The party that took over all the streets of the center is unmanageable--the city can no longer not actively take part, simply for the safety of the local citizen. Cramming close to a mllion people into the neighborhood (say 4 blocks square) for the parties afterwards, which mostly involved loud music and drinking in the streets, since every restaurant and other locale had put an outdoor bar on the side walk in front of their establishment to sell beer and etc...

I pretty much stayed home and hid. Did go down with my friends for a drink, and then hurried home. Well, hurried is a relative term, since wading through such masses of people was not quick. Nor my ide aof a good time.

My two friends visiting from Valencia are here until tomorrow morning. But one is sleeping off last night's partying--he got home around 4 this afternoon--and the other (who came home at a reasonable hour as I did) is off wandering.

I should do some work but not up for anything more than idly reading another Marcia Muller (LISTENING TO THE SILENCE).
