Amigos y vecinos
This is (more or less) the cover of AMIGOS Y VECINOS, my recent picture book with Sara that's set in Chueca, the equivalent of NYC's Chelsea in Madrid. My friends like to joke that you can tell it's a gay book just because it's so PINK, although actually the saturation on the printed version isn't quite so strong (thankfully!).
Sara had left plenty of sky up top so that the text didn't run illegibly into the image, but... there were all sorts of design problems (such as the inverted order of the title, which was supposed to be VECINOS Y AMIGOS). (The top and bottom got folded over on the paper-over-boards cover, so the actual cover ends just above the title).
The presentation for this book is this afternoon at 7pm at Berkana. It's a joint-presentation for a few other queer/alternative family-themed books, and is being cosponsored by the recent association for lesbian mothers and gay fathers... So hopefully people will show up and a few books will be sold.
